always treacherous
especially when it rains
even more so when it snows
steps to the subway
but today the sky
blue and sunny
the sounds of the city
happy
maybe too happy
notice the homeless man
sleeping under unfolded newspapers
the smell of piss and vomit
no effect
it feels like what a perfect day
should feel
women walk around
in weather appropriate attire
some men appreciate it
the birds
chirp
Sing
fly
even the cabbies
take it easy
making their turns
into traffic
like everyone just wants to enjoy
this first nice day
of the year
